Girls for Climate Action is a young women led movement that is cantering their lived realities and experiences to advocate for climate justice. The movement works to see that we have a just world that is resilient and lives in harmony with the Environment. G4CA does several things including advocacy, climate education, climate leadership and Local led climate solutions across the country. We engage young women/youth to develop innovative, on-the-ground solutions to the toughest environmental challenges so that people and nature can thrive, as we contribute to building resilient communities.

As the M&E Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring effective monitoring and evaluation of project activities. Your key responsibilities will include:
Qualifications:
- Relevant degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
- Proven experience in M&E for development projects, preferably in climate justice or related sectors.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Design and implement a comprehensive MEL framework aligned with project/program objectives and goals.Define indicators for measuring progress and success related to
the project and the programs that G4CA runs. - Oversee the development of data collection tools and methodologies while ensuring accurate and timely data collection including both quantitative and qualitative.
- Analyse data to assess project and overall programs impact and inform decision-making.
- Prepare regular MEL reports for internal stakeholders and resource partners, highlighting key findings, challenges, and Learnings that can be used to strengthen capacities.
- Train staff and partners on MELprocesses, tools, and best practices to foster a culture of learning as one of the core values of G4CA.
- Provide continuous support to the work teams to enhance their MEL skills.
- Collaborate with local communities, partners, and stakeholders to incorporate their feedback into the MEL processes.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops to share MEL findings and gather insights for improvement.
- Continuously assess the effectiveness of project strategies and recommend adaptations based on MEL findings.
- Promote a learning environment by documenting lessons learned and best practices.
- Ensure that all MEL activities comply with oG4CA’s policies, ethical standards, and partner requirements.
- Conduct regular quality checks on data and reports to maintain high standards.
- Assist in the development and management of the MEL budget, ensuring cost-effective implementation of M&E activities.
- Represent the G4CA in relevant forums, workshops, and conferences to share insights on MEL practices in climate justice work.
- Follow up on the learning needs of members of G4CA to keep enhancing their capacities.
- Support in creating impact stories and documentation.
- Practise a behaviour that is consistent with G4CA’s core values, and promotion of gender equity and diversity goals.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING
The ideal applicant must have a track record and experience in Monitoring, Evaluation and learning. Postgraduate in M&E is an added advantage.
- Practical experience in working on social/climate/gender equality related issues and a practical understanding of the topic.
- Experience in capacity strengthening on impact measurement tools.
- Excellent teamwork, communication and collaboration skills with a wide range of actors, both within the G4CA team and other actors.
- Strong commitment to Gender Equity and Diversity (GED).
- Strong interpersonal communication and facilitation skills
- Knowledge of Monitoring and Evaluation including report writing, documentation and presentation.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent use of MS suites including Teams, OneDrive, Thunderbird, and Asana is an added advantage.
- LANGUAGE: Lusoga is an added advantage.
- Female candidates are highly preferred for this position.
