GREEN MASTER
We believe in the power of Education. The Green Master is a creative program that engages children in-school in understanding the climate science and also behavioural change.
Through Environmental clubs in each of the schools, children become environmental stewards in school and in their communities. The program targets 5000+ young people focusing on instilling good environmental values in them at an early stage to grow up knowing their role in environmental conservation and climate action. In each of the clubs, the Green Master program works with Climate Captains who go through a an eco-leadership training to be the eco-leaders and inspire more children in school to join the fight towards eco-friendly practices within schools.
HOW WE DO IT
Our biggest aim is to simplify Climate Science for Children and therefore the program focuses on two exciting pillars;
Green Master Curriculum;
Every school term/semester, our very creative team runs a fully developed curriculum in form of games, art, drawings and illustrations tapping into their knowledge of their surrounding environment, experiences of the environment and creating eco-friendly solutions.
Green Master Challenge:
Where students from all the schools come and showcase their projects towards climate adaptation and mitigation in-front of the jury for prizes.
With our student centred program, our outcomes are; Climate & Environment sensitization and awareness, Eco-friendly practices within schools and communities, eco-innovations, Knowledge sharing & peer to peer learning.
OUR IN SCHOOL CAMPAIGNS
Birthday Trees: Every semester alongside the climate series, every child plants a tree for their birthday. Do you want to plant a Birthday tree let us know.
Reuse, Recycle and Recover.
Comprised of an Editorial team, every participating school produces a weekly Eco Buzz bulletin that is aired out on their assemblies and later published on our website, social media platforms and various media partners’ platforms like Busoga Today.
Restoring, maintaining the old orchards and creating new ones is what graces the orchard week where fruit trees are donated to schools and together we pant with them. This year we look forward to planting 100,000 fruit tree seedlings in 100 schools and 50 community areas of Jinja, Manafwa, Buikwe, Kampala and Kasese. We are preparing for the rains come April.
